The Brain & Cognitive Science Club (BCS IITK) is a student community dedicated to explore the intersection of machine learning and neuroscience. Our work spans over a vast range of domains - from Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing to Neuroimaging, brain mapping, Spiking Neural Networks and Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs).
We also have an EEG device and an eye tracker using which we have built various interesting projects.
We have collaborated with UP Police, and also with institutions like TimeFlux, Spheron Network, and the SAWiN (South Asian Women in Neuroscience) Collective for talks and workshops.
We embrace innovative methodologies to develop unique strategies that drive lasting success.
We foster a community of curious minds by integrating academic discussions, hands-on projects, and expert insights to advance understanding and innovation in brain and cognitive sciences.
Here we meet to discuss and talk about the latest ongoing research in this field. This is conducted weekly on Friday night of 2 hours long duration. Where interested students present a short talk on some latest articles which they found to be interesting to share. This helps significantly in developing and maintaining curiosity and in spreading the latest research among the campus. Have a look at our activities in the journal club here.
We support three main types of projects: replicating influential past studies to test their reproducibility, exploring new and original research ideas within our area of interest, and engaging in learning-oriented projects designed to help students with little experience gain practical skills and guidance in the research process
